Solstice for Advantest is a result of the collaboration between TSSI and Advantest to enable data conversions from electronic design automation (EDA) outputs to Advantest leading families of automatic test equipment (ATE).Solstice for Advantest

WGL and STIL vector files contain timing (cyclized) by designed. Translating WGL/STIL format to an ATE format is, therefore, very straight forward.

It's even easier with TSSI's conversion engine because of built-in mapping, tester rules checking, and an intermediate database that can retarget to any ATE format without re-reading the ASCII source file, which is a major time saving feature.

The user interface is a simple flow diagram that's easy to build, self-documented, and without cryptic keywords and syntax to type. The flow diagram can also be run in a batch process to convert numerous WGL/STIL files.

VCD and EVCD are event-based files generated by EDA simulation tools. Translating these files to a target ATE format requires a key step: cyclization.

Cyclization involves defining timing and ATE format that would put cycles onto the events and produce ATE friendly test patterns.

TSSI is the industry leading software vendor in cyclization technology. Our cyclization engine automatically discovers timing and ATE format just from reading the source VCD/EVCD file and analyzes ALL transactions found. The thorough analysis ensures all the intended device transactions are taking into account.

The user interface is a simple flow diagram that enables test engineers to construct their flow the way they think. Each decision point in the flow is self-documented.

Solstice's TimeTable utility automates timing and format discovery and automatically constructs the entire flow diagram from VCD/EVCD to the ATE program. All without cryptic keywords and syntax to type. Bundled with the Solstice package, the TimeTable utility also automates many conditioning capabilities such as: snap I/O, align, move, guardband, etc.

Solstice programs a target ATE's timing, format, and pattern resources via a TesterBridge module. A TesterBridge is being used in a WGL/STIL to ATE, or VCD/EVCD to ATE conversion process.

Solstice TesterBridge's capabilities:

  • Auto pin assignment and pin-mapping conforming to tester rules
  • Auto generate equation-based timing with multiport, and multi-time-domain supports
  • Preserve comments, or merge comments for Analog Mixed-Signal or other external communication
